📋 Why use a Bao Viet An Gia policy checklist before signing?

The Bao Viet An Gia insurance document set consists of the Insurance Application, the Insurance Contract, the Benefits Schedule annex, any amendments or additions (if any) and the Insurance Rules. Checking each item helps you spot wrong names, missing benefits, premium obligations and key dates before you commit.

🧾 What to check in your Bao Viet An Gia policy checklist

1. Insured members and participating benefits

  • ☐ Full name, date of birth and Citizen Identification Card (CCCD)/passport number of each insured member match the original documents.
  • ☐ Type of participation: new or renewal.
  • ☐ Main plan (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond) matches what was registered.
  • ☐ Additional benefits: outpatient treatment, personal accident, personal life, dental and maternity are marked for the right person and the right benefit.
  • ☐ The personal accident and personal life sum insured (if any) is clearly stated.
  • ☐ Acceptance conditions (if any) for each insured member.
  • ☐ Form of hospital fee guarantee card issuance: hard card or electronic card.

2. Policy term and premium

  • ☐ 12-month policy term, start date and end date (both dates included).
  • ☐ Total premium payable and payment deadline: pay in full by cash or bank transfer before or on the date stated in the contract.
  • ☐ Note that the contract will be automatically cancelled if the premium is not paid on time and in full, unless otherwise agreed.
  • ☐ Premium rates by age and plan can be found in this guide to Bao Viet An Gia premiums.

3. Waiting periods

  • ☐ Accident risk: no waiting period applies.
  • ☐ Ordinary illness and dental treatment: 30 days.
  • ☐ Maternity complications as defined: 90 days.
  • ☐ Pre-existing conditions, special diseases, tearing, rupture or reconstruction of ligaments and the meniscus, and diseases listed under general exclusion point 46: 365 days.
  • ☐ Children up to 6 years old: 180 days for bronchitis, bronchiolitis and pneumonia of all types.
  • ☐ Additional personal life benefit: 90 days for ordinary illness; 365 days for maternity complications, pre-existing conditions, special diseases and similarly listed diseases.
  • ☐ Additional maternity benefit: 90 days for maternity complications; 635 days for childbirth.
  • ☐ New participants: the waiting period is counted from the effective start date; continuously renewing members: counted from the first insurance effective date; if renewing with added new benefits or higher limits: the waiting period applies to the higher difference portion, counted from the date of addition or the date the limit is increased.

Each case is explained in detail in this guide to Bao Viet An Gia waiting periods.

5. How benefits are paid

  • ☐ The insurer settles and pays by cash or bank transfer within 15 working days from the date it receives a complete and valid claim file.
  • ☐ A soft claim file submitted through the BaoViet Direct app applies to compensation that is not an inheritance and is less than or equal to 10,000,000 VND.

6. Priority order of documents in a dispute

  • ☐ Amendments or additions signed most recently.
  • ☐ The Insurance Contract and attached annexes.
  • ☐ The Insurance Rules.

7. Truthful declaration commitment on the Insurance Application

  • ☐ A commitment that you are currently fully healthy; no neurological or mental illness, leprosy; not undergoing treatment for illness or injury; and no permanent injury/disability of 50% or more.
  • ☐ Full and accurate declared information, with a commitment to notify Bao Viet immediately of any relevant change.
  • ☐ An understanding that if the declaration is not truthful and complete, Bao Viet has the full right to reduce liability in whole or in part for a compensation claim; if non-disclosure is for insurance fraud, the contract may be cancelled from the effective start date.

For the health declaration questions, see this guide to health disclosure for Bao Viet An Gia.

💡 What to do if you find a mistake?

Ask the agent or advisor to correct it before signing, and do not amend the contract yourself. Also do not overlook Article 7 on exclusions; the details are set out in Chapter III, General Exclusions, of the Bao Viet An Gia Insurance Rules. If you want to understand refund terms when ending the contract, see this guide to cancelling Bao Viet An Gia and premium refunds.
