🩺 Basic eligibility: 4 commitment groups

Under the insurance rules, the Insurance Request Form (GYCBH) is an inseparable part of the Insurance Contract or Insurance Certificate. By signing the GYCBH, the policyholder confirms that they understand and agree to everything stipulated in the GYCBH and the product document set. The commitments can be grouped into four main areas: health, the trip, declared information, and personal data.

For an overview of the protection provided, see What Does Flexi Travel Insurance Cover? 4 Protection Groups Explained to understand the scope of cover before signing the commitments.

💪 Health commitments: physically and mentally fit

This is the most important commitment group in the eligibility conditions. The policyholder and all insured persons listed in the GYCBH declare that they are currently fully healthy in both body and mind, and medically fit to take the trip.

In addition, the GYCBH is completed while you are in Vietnam. This means health information is confirmed based on your actual condition at the time of purchase – not at the destination or during the journey.

  • The policyholder and all insured persons declare they are healthy in both body and mind.
  • They are medically fit for the planned trip.
  • Information is declared while you are in Vietnam.

Note: if any insured person is under observation, receiving treatment, or has unstable health symptoms, you must answer the health declaration questions in the GYCBH honestly. Detailed guidance is in Health Declaration for Flexi Travel Insurance: 2 Questions to Answer Honestly. This article does not replace medical advice; if unsure, ask a doctor or an advisor before deciding.

✈️ Trip commitments: departing from Vietnam, not for treatment

The second group relates directly to the trip itself. The policyholder declares that the insured trip departs within the insurance period, from the territory of Vietnam. The trip is also not for the purpose of treating injury or illness, or for healthcare, and does not go against a doctor’s advice.

  • The trip departs within the registered insurance period.
  • The trip departs from the territory of Vietnam.
  • The trip’s purpose is not to treat injury, illness or for healthcare.
  • The trip does not go against a doctor’s advice.

📝 Information commitments: complete, honest and updated

The policyholder confirms that the information in the GYCBH is complete and authentic to the best of their knowledge, and undertakes to notify the insurer immediately of any relevant change. This is an ongoing obligation throughout the process, not only at the point of purchase.

The commitment also includes confirming receipt of the product document set – the Insurance Rules, the Schedule of Benefits and the Product Summary – that they were fully advised, and that they understand the contents of the GYCBH and the product documents. The policyholder accepts the conditions and terms set out in the Insurance Contract and agrees that the GYCBH, together with full payment of the premium, will form the basis of the Insurance Contract between the two parties.

⚠️ What happens if you don’t disclose honestly?

The commitments in the GYCBH clearly state the consequences of failing to disclose information truthfully and fully: the insurer has the full right to reduce its liability, in whole or in part, for any claim under the Insurance Contract or Insurance Certificate.

In more serious cases, if the non-disclosure is intended as insurance fraud, the contract or certificate may be cancelled from its effective date. Answering the health questions correctly and providing accurate information is therefore a key condition for your insurance protection to remain fully intact.

🔒 Personal data protection and processing

When joining, the policyholder agrees to the insurer’s General Terms and Conditions on Personal Data Protection and Processing. Under these, the insurer and/or its representative may collect, process and store personal data in order to perform the rights and obligations under the Insurance Contract and related tasks as required by law.

At the same time, participants allow the insurer to access third parties on behalf of the insured – including but not limited to medical staff and doctors – to collect the information needed to assess the insured person’s condition.
