🚗 Reimbursement of the rental car excess
Under the insurance rules, when the insured rents a self-drive car abroad and the car suffers loss or damage due to an accident, the company will reimburse the out-of-pocket amount (the excess) that the insured must bear under the car rental contract, provided the insured is clearly named in that contract. The reimbursement is capped at the limit of the chosen insurance program, as stated in the Insurance Certificate.
To be considered for this benefit, all of the following conditions must be met:
- The insured is the designated driver of the rental car, or is not prohibited from driving the rental car under the terms and conditions of the rental contract.
- The car is rented from a licensed rental agency.
- The insured has purchased full and comprehensive motor insurance for loss or damage to the rental car during the rental period.
- The insured complies with all requirements of the rental contract, the terms of the motor insurance policy, and the laws, rules and regulations of the host country.
The company will not pay for loss or damage arising from operating the rental car in breach of the rental contract terms, occurring outside the scope of national roads, or in violation of the laws, rules or regulations of that country.
💳 Credit card balance payment in case of accidental death
If the insured dies as a result of an accident occurring outside the territory of Vietnam, the company will pay up to the sum insured of the chosen program for one insured person, to settle any unpaid balance on that person’s credit card arising from purchases of goods and services during the trip.
This benefit has three important limits:
- This extension is not payable if the insured has already received a similar benefit under another insurance policy.
- It does not apply to insured persons under 17 years of age.
- No interest or incidental expenses are paid.
So this benefit supports the principal of credit card debt incurred during the trip — it is not a loan or a general financial guarantee. Check the Insurance Certificate for the exact maximum payout under your chosen program.
⛳ ‘Hole in One’ golf prize
If the insured (an adult) records a ‘hole in one’ in any game of golf — that is, a recognized golf shot during the trip — the company will pay the sum insured of the chosen program for each occurrence and in total for the trip.
The condition for this benefit is proof: the scorecard recording the event must be confirmed by golf course staff. If a confirmed scorecard cannot be presented, the claim may not be accepted.
